Weller Book Works Presents: Lori Parr, Lavender Farming: Secrets from a Hard Row Hoed

Join us Saturday, February 1, at 7 PM, as we welcome Lori Parr for a presentation and signing of Lavender Farming: Secrets from a Hard Row Hoed!

On finding a dearth of technical guidebooks and realizing most of the information from the coastal growers to be non-applicable for lavender farming in an Intermountain locale, Lori found herself flying by the seat of her trial-and-error pants in her first lavender farming venture as a sharecropper in Missoula .

She learned it all from scratch. 90% of the original farm was lost to one freak storm in 2009, and from those remains she has created a new farm on her own land in St. Ignatius, Montana.

Lori has corralled her experience (and plenty of entertaining anecdotes) in her first book Lavender Farming: Secrets from a Hard Row Hoed.

She consults lavender initiates in person and online in places as far away as the Arabian Desert

Born and raised in SLC, Utah, she moved to Montana in 1993 and started Kinship Gardens, a garden maintenance/consulting/design service, and has farmed lavender since 2001.

The presentation will begin at 7, followed by a signing.
