The best way to discover an oil's flavor is to sip it "neat" - meaning on its own without bread or other food.  This will allow you to savor the oil's flavor without distraction.

Chef Josh Garcia, co-owner of We Olive in Trolley Square joined Midday to talk all about olive oil.

He suggests the 4 S's when tasting.

  1. Swirl: This releases the oil's aroma molecules.  Keep the oil covered until ready to sniff.
  2. Sniff: Uncover the oil and quickly inhale from the rim of the cup.  Take note of the intensity and the description of the aroma.
  3. Slurp: Take a small sip of the oil while also "sipping" some air.  This slurping action emulsifies the oil and helps to spread it throughout your mouth.
  4. Swallow: An oil's pungency is judged by a sensation in your throat so you must swallow at least a small amount to thoroughly evaluate it.

Chef Garcia also talked about how to host an olive oil tasting party.

First, select your olive oils.  It's important to choose different styles of EVOO to showcase the possibilities.  Chef Garcia recommends selecting a delicate and mild oil, a few medium bodied, fruity oils, and a robust and pungent olive oil. Any of their expert staff at We Olive can help with your selections.

Second, choose the foods you will serve with your EVOO.  After your guests have tasted the olive oils, they'll want to try the oils on different foods.  Consider setting up a DIY crostini bar with soft cheese, like ricotta and goat cheese, prepared tapenades and spreads, roasted veggies and fresh or dried fruits.  Don't forget some of the Aged Balsamic Vinegar!

Third, make sure your setup is user-friendly.  Provide small disposable tasting cups and plates for tasting olive oil.

Fourth, consider a wine pairing.  If you'll be serving wine, think about choosing wines that compliment the flavors of the olive oil.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - What a bash at trolley square, Saturday.

Hundreds of kids, of course with their parents, showed up for the fall festival.

Many came in costumes.  It was a safe way for the little ones to get a taste of Halloween.

Cassidy Rice, or Trolley Square says, ”We have free face painters, we have Boris Diaw from the Utah Jazz, we have the animal adoption from the Utah Humane Society and Nuzzles & Co. from Park City. We have trick or treating going on around the center.”

With all that, who wouldn't want to come? The children left with smiles on their faces, and some of the animals hopefully left with new, forever homes.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) - Hundreds of "Muggles" descended onto Trolley Square Saturday night to anxiously await the midnight release of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.'

People of all ages gathered in front of Wellers Book Work in Salt Lake City for a Harry Potter Book Release Party put on by Salt Lake Comic Con.

"We kinda wanted to give fans kind of a nostalgic party, I guess, for the new one that's coming out because it's highly anticipated," said Salt Lake Comic Con Community Outreach Director Britnee Bartlett.

Coming almost 10 years after the 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,' fans have been eager to find out what Harry Potter has been up to after all these years and all grown up.  'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,' is based off the stage play currently being performed in London written by Jack Thorne.  The book was written by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany.  The 8th installment in the Harry Potter World takes place 19 years after the events of the Battle of Hogwarts and follows the life of Harry , who is now working at the Ministry of Magic, and his son Albus Severus Potter.

The launch party included everything from cos players, games, contests, magic shows, a Sorting Hat ritual for kids, panels and discussions, and so much more.

Fans of the books had so much to do leading up until the midnight release of the book.

"I never wanted to think that it was the end just because it was, it just seemed so never ending," said Emily Casselman.

Guests also had the opportunity to purchase Salt Lake Comic Con tickets at the event which takes place Septemeber 1-3.

Salt Lake Comic Con Co-Founder Dan Farr says, Harry Potter is such a big part of Salt Lake Comic Con and Salt Lake City.  Salt Lake has some of the biggest Harry Potter fans in the world and they are looking forward to incorporate more of the magical world of Harry Potter at this years event.  Farr also teased that an actor who plays a beloved character in the movies may be coming to Salt Lake Comic Con, but wouldn't elaborate more on who that might be, only saying we'd find out very soon.

'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,' goes on sale July 31st, which also happens to be J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter's birthday's.
